“Life is short so make everyday a Red Lipstick Day”
Not to long ago I published a press release on the latest collection from Catrice, the Alluring Reds collection. Catrice was kind enough to send me a few items from the collection and it did everything but disappoint. I immediately fell inlove. On todays post I will be reviewing all the lip products including three lipsticks, one liquid lipstick and a lipbalm. So lets get into it.
Ok, so can we just have a moment of appreciation for the packaging? Beautiful and exclusive to the touch, the silver packaging is sturdy ensuring the caps won’t fall off and leave you with damaged lipstick. We all know how heartbreaking that can be.
There are three lipsticks in the collection, all of which are matte and well…shades of Red. The pigmentation payoff on all off the shades were exceptionally great and the staying power even better. I personally sip on 6 cups off coffee before lunch time and by the time it was 1 pm my lipstick was a minimally faded and in tact, so that it definitely one thing that I adored because lets face it, nobody wants to apply lipstick all out the day. Us girls need reliability and consistency and these lipsticks offer just that.
The shades? Well there is a red to every girls liking, personally my favourite has to be M-Attempt To Conquest, it is a deep berry toned red that suits most skin tones perfectly and we all know how on trend the berry tones are. Next we have Striking M-Attitude which is more your usual tone of red, the Marilyn Monroe kind if you catch my drift. If you are looking for a orange toned red the M-Attraction is the lipstick for you. This shade is more bright, florally and ready to add a pop of colour to any outfit.
If you have seen the press release you would note that there are three liquid lipsticks and luckily enough Catrice sent me the shade that I would most likely wear on an everyday basis. Bridgette Bordeaux liquid lipstick is more of a mauve shade with a red facet. Like a nude-red (OMG never thought I would say that in the same sentence) It is as if Catrice designed the shade just for me…but trust me ladies this shade will suit almost everyone. It is a pigmented as a lipstick but shines like a gloss. I really love this and can predict that this will become an everyday necessity.
So the Best for Last…and let me just explain why. I have the most peculiar type of lips that you will every come across. Labello, Clarins and Elizabeth’s 8 hour balm all of them dry out and chap my lips. The only thing that works is the Old Fashioned Lipice, not even the newly designed ones, only those plastic ones you buy at you nearest gas station. so when I received this in my packaged I was terrified, risking to test the Lipcolour and Care from the collection might leave my lips destructed for a week if not more. But, I took the plunge. I NEED to stock up. The Catrice Alluring Reds Lip Colour and Care is the most creamiest, buttery sensation that your lips would feel. It adds a hint of colour to where on it’s own or preps your lips for that matte lipstick. Matte lipsticks are so beautiful but can be a complete nightmare to your precious pout and this lipbalm prevents just that. I have never been more satisfied in a product as I am with this one and I highly recommend this the every girl and even boy with sensitive lips.
Overall this is a really astonishing collection, all of the products that I received were just astounding and I say rush out and get your hands on it because it’s not going to last very long.
