Wanderings: The Palazzo Hotel

Palazzo Hotel

I never thought I would say the words “Italy” and “Johannesburg” in the same sentence but to my surprise, and a pleasant one, it is possible. If you are looking for a One-Night escape but also looking to break-free from all the African Décor that is so diluted across many hotels and lodges in South Africa, then the Palazzo Hotel is the way to go.

The Palazzo Hotel is situated in Fourways inside the Montecasino Entertainment centre. As you all know, Montecasino is the little Italy of South Africa, and the Palazzo Hotel isn’t any different.

The Palazzo is a Five-Star, Award Winning Hotel, so it is no surprise that upon check in we were Welcomed with ice-cold beer, top quality merlot, and heartwarming smiles.

After a quick and hassle free check-in we were escorted to our room. Champagne, Rose Petals and Gold Trimmings made us feel right at home. this is indeed the most romantic hotel in Johannesburg as it is drenched in Luxury and Opulence.

The staff were hospitable and offered first-class service. They swiftly came to myself and my wrinkled blouse’s rescue as I requested an ironing board and iron in less then 10 min. It was literally not even 2min when there was a knock-on the door, and helping hands who immediately and with a smile offered to iron my shirt. Overall the Service and Staff get a 10/10

All the extra’s, such as the pool, relaxing body treatments at the pool, and buffet breakfast at the pool screamed luxury. The Buffet Breakfast also deserves a major shout-out as there was literally anything you can think off. Consisting off the basic eggs, bacon and sausages, there was everything from a wide range of fruit, cheese, cold-cut meats, cereals and pastries. The Chocolate Croissants? Yeah I had 5 and I feel absolutely no shame whatsoever.

So will I visit again? Well with amazing service, opulent and romantic décor, relaxing pool-side service and the best chocolate croissants in the worlds? Absolutely.

So for who is this hotel best suited? I would say anywhere from Couples looking for a quickie away to a Girls night out and all the way to a family trip. Seeing as it is in the Montecasino Entertainment centre there are amazing restaurants, cocktail lounges and clubs to choose from making it perfect for a Couples Bonding trip or a Night out with the girls. There is also a Ten-pin bowling ally, movie theatre and arcade making it super child friendly.

What was the most opulent, grand and romantic hotel you have ever been to?
